Over the past several weeks, the Card Department has been preparing for a debit card and ATM processing migration. For years, VLFCU has used Elan Financial Services for this processing. Early last year, Fiserv bought Elan and is taking over its clients’ programs. The migration of our platform is set to take place beginning late afternoon on Sunday, September 27, between 5:00 pm – 1:00 am.
While we expect member impact to be minimal, there is still the potential for inconvenience. This could include temporary false fraud alerts or card declines as Fiserv builds your purchasing history. This could take up to two weeks, and many members will not even notice any difference.
There are many great things coming for our members to enhance your debit and ATM experience. These include:
- Fiserv’s fraud system is much more sophisticated. As part of the enhanced fraud offering from Fiserv, our members will be automatically enrolled in premium text notification services. This means if we have a cell phone number on file, you will receive a text regarding the transaction to confirm or deny a purchase that is flagged as potential fraud. Now is a great time to update your cell phone with VLFCU!
- With Fiserv, setting or changing a PIN number is completely self-service via an automated call system. You won’t have to do this during VLFCU’s business hours anymore.
- Members will have 24/7 access to customer service, alleviating any issues in real-time.
We are excited about the overall improvement to our card services provided by Fiserv, and we thank you for your patience as we implement these new features. If you ever have any questions about your MasterCard Debit Card or ATM card, you can reach our staff at 419-625-9025, extension 4.
